Customized Orders and Order Approval

Customizing orders before they go to production is an important feature for many merchants. Teelaunch offers several methods to hold orders for review and customization before they're sent to production.

Three Methods to Hold Orders

Method 1: Hold Orders During Product Creation

When creating a new product listing, you can enable the "Hold Orders" toggle in the Details tab. 

  • This setting applies only to the specific product you're creating

  • All orders for this particular product will be held for your approval

  • Other products will follow your account's default order approval settings

Method 2: Hold Orders for Existing Products

For products you've already created:

  1. Go to the "Products" tab in your dashboard

  2. Select "My Products"

  3. Find and select the specific product

  4. Click the "Hold Orders" button 

  • This setting applies only to the selected product

  • Allows you to hold specific products while allowing others to process automatically

Method 3: Global Order Approval Setting

The most comprehensive method is to use the Order Approval setting in your account settings: 

Options include:

  • Manual: All orders require your approval before processing

  • Automatically (6 hours): Orders are held for 6 hours, then automatically released

  • Automatically (12 hours): Orders are held for 12 hours, then automatically released

  • Automatically (24 hours): Orders are held for 24 hours, then automatically released

  • Automatically (48 hours): Orders are held for 48 hours, then automatically released

Important note: Once an order is sent to production, it cannot be cancelled or updated.

Customizing and Releasing Orders

When an order is on hold, you can:

  1. Customize the artwork:

    • Navigate to your pending order

    • Click "Change File" for the product you want to customize

    • Upload or select your new artwork

    • Save your changes

  1. Release the order:

    • Individual orders: Select the order and click the "Release" button

    • Multiple orders: Select multiple orders and click "Release Orders" 

Order Status Flow

  • Pending Approval: Order is on hold awaiting your review/approval

  • Pending: Order has been released and will be processed in the next production batch

  • Processing: Order is in production

  • Fulfilled: Order has been completed and shipped

Best Practices

  • Use Method 1 or 2 (product-specific holds) when you only need to customize certain products

  • Use Method 3 (global settings) when you need to review all orders

  • Set a longer automatic release time if you can't check orders daily

  • Remember to regularly check and release held orders to avoid production delays
