The "Automatically assign shipping rules" setting in your teelaunch account determines how shipping profiles are handled for your products across integrated platforms like Etsy and Shopify.
When you integrate with Etsy, you'll notice a shipping profile labeled "(standard shipping-teelaunch)" in your Etsy shipping profiles. This is part of our integration process, not a product-specific shipping rule.
When Enabled: We automatically create and assign appropriate shipping profiles for each product sent to your Etsy store.
When Disabled: You'll need to manually create and assign shipping profiles for your products in Etsy.
The functionality is similar for Shopify stores, though you won't see the "(standard shipping-tealaunch)" label.
When Enabled: We send the proper shipping prices and country restrictions based on where we can ship the product.
When Disabled: You'll need to configure your own shipping rates and country restrictions in Shopify.
US-Only Products: This feature is especially important for products that can only ship to US addresses. When enabled, our shipping profiles will prevent non-US customers from ordering these items.
Existing Products: If you've already created products with shipping profiles turned off and want to apply teelaunch shipping profiles, you'll need to:
Turn on "Automatically assign shipping rules"
Create and push a new product to your store
The shipping profile will be transferred with the new product
Never: No automatic shipping profiles will be assigned to any platform
All: Automatic shipping profiles will be assigned to all connected platforms
Only On Etsy: Automatic shipping profiles will only be assigned for Etsy products
Only On Shopify: Automatic shipping profiles will only be assigned for Shopify products
We recommend using our automatic shipping profiles unless you have specific shipping configurations that you need to maintain. Our profiles are designed to properly account for product dimensions, weight, and shipping restrictions.
